Crowd Funding & The Best Crowdfunding Sites!
How and where to get funding from the crowd!
Crowdfunding is a term used for a practice when a project or venture is raising money from large number of individuals. With the accessibility of Internet, and development of many crowdfunding platforms, this is a growing industry worth over $5 billion annually.
In general there are two main types of crowdfunding:
-Reward or donation based.
-Equity, venture or debt based (investment).
Crowdfunding practice usually includes the participation of three parties:
-The initiator who launches the crowdfunding campaign
-The Donors or Investors who provide the funds
-The platform where the crowdfunding takes place
There is also peer to peer (P2P) practice but it’s more common with the debt/credit crowdfunding.
When launching crowdfunding project, there are two main funding models:
-All or Nothing (AON): Where the campaign initiator sets a fundraising goal amount and collects the money only if the goal is completed.
-Keep it All (KIA): Where the initiator sets a fundraising goal and keeps the entire amount raised regardless of whether or not they meet their goal.
Raising funds via crowdfunding is a serious business. Beside great idea, in order to be successful, the campaign must be well researched, prepared, advertised and executed.
