With more than 100 million unique visitors per month this employment metasearch engine for job listings is definitely the place to visit when in search for jobs! Established in 2004, Indeed has given job seekers free access – to search millions of jobs from thousands of company websites, job boards and recruitment agencies. It really is one of the most comprehensive search engines for jobs. Indeed pioneered a radically improved approach to job search by allowing and featuring job listings all over the web including competitor websites. Indeed was selected by Time Magazine as one of the Top 10 Websites, by PC Magazine as one of the Top 100 Classic Web Sites and by PC World as one of the Best 50 Websites.

The UI of indeed job search is simple as it can be, which is a good thing because reminds on Google, which can also be con for some users due to the fact that many extra and fancy features are missing. You type your keyword or location in the search. The jobs features are both local and international, in different industries, between entry and executive level positions.

Being a free search engine that does not require you to be signed-in to search for jobs is quite nice and safe feature. You can also set up free account where you can apply for jobs online, save your job searches to receive email job alerts, including new jobs that match your criteria. You can also put your resume on Indeed so thousands of employers can find you. Another good feature of indeed is, that no personal contact information will be shown to potential employer, unless you choose to share it with them.

From the employers side of view the site offers pay-per-click budgeting which is unique approach for posting job listings. Employers can choose how much money they want to spend to advertise jobs. The amount is credited as a budget for each listing, each time the potential candidate looks the listing, small amount is being charged from the budget. The good thing here is as long as there is money in your budget the listing will remain active and online! Many employers have enjoyed indeed feature for creating feeds to the careers page of employer’s company website, because once setup it’s an automated process.

Pros:

Jobs from multiple external websites show up (visiting Indeed will cut down on the number of websites you visit for jobs), Email alerts for jobs, Google feel, career advice tips and insights.

Cons:

Sloppy narrowing down the listings, more options are needed in advanced search, support is very slow.

There are few alternative job sites like Indeed, but the most notable is SimplyHired.
